Bring the experience you can support
Upload your resume and the relevant job description in Copycat. In the current release, these can be attached as mode reference material. They give the model something concrete to use; they do not guarantee perfect extraction of every field or make an invented experience true. Check the attached material before practicing.
Pick a mode for the conversation
Use a job-search or technical-interview template for the type of practice you are doing. A general or custom mode can be useful for a different format. Add instructions that describe the practice session and the style of feedback you want. Reference files and mode instructions should help the model focus on the question.
Configure the answer provider
Choose a supported AI provider and enter your own API key, or configure a supported local endpoint. The Copycat subscription covers app access; hosted AI-provider usage is charged separately. If you intend to ask screenshot questions, select a model that actually supports images.
Start with one question
Ask a practice partner to play the interviewer, with their audio routed through your meeting application, or type a practice question into Chat. Watch the live transcript before requesting an answer. If the transcript is wrong, correct the question or fix the capture setup rather than judging the response against words the model did not receive.
Use answers as material for rehearsal
Read the suggested structure, then say the answer in your own words. For a behavioral question, identify the actual situation, your action, and the result you can support. For a technical question, explain assumptions and trade-offs instead of memorizing a polished paragraph. Reject claims that are not grounded in your experience.
Practice follow-up questions
Ask why you made a decision, what changed, or what you would do differently. Copycat can use relevant earlier discussion in the current session for context. Check that the follow-up still refers to the right example; session context is assistance, not a guarantee that every detail will be remembered correctly.
Review the session
Revisit the saved transcript and generated notes. Pick one or two improvements for the next run: a clearer opening, a more specific example, or a better explanation of a trade-off. Copy useful material into your preparation notes and check it for recognition or generation errors.
Test the full setup during the trial
The 10-minute trial starts with your first session, after setup. Use that time to test the workflow on your actual hardware and chosen providers. After the trial, monthly device activation is arranged by email; it is not a lifetime purchase or an automatic card charge.
